Description
The article is devoted to the study of the process of truncation and reduction of words in modern French on the material of the daily press. This article describes commonly used forms of truncation and explains the difference between truncation and abbreviation. Particular attention is paid to the study of the linguistics particularities forms of words, as well as the category of gender and the number of abbreviated words.
