Analytical languages do not contain grammatical meanings. Grammatical meanings in analytical languages are expressed mainly by prepositions, articles, conjunctions, function words, word order and by intonation of an utterance. Since English is an analytical language, therefore, syntactic relations between words in phrases and sentences are expressed mainly by function words - auxiliary verbs, prepositions, articles, word order and other means. A fixed word order in the English language correlates with the ability of English sentence stress to actualize almost any word of the utterance. The correlation of word order and sentence stress disambiguates and makes explicit the communicative purpose of the sender.
